Digitalsmiths, the leader in web-based video archiving has signed a major licensing agreement with DG Entertainment, a Los Angeles based entertainment production company, to sell and distribute Media Access Pro®, a proprietary video search and retrieval web platform.

The agreement, the first of its kind in the industry, will allow DG Entertainment to distribute Digitalsmiths’ platform output as MoviePro/TVPro CMS (Content Management System).

The interface provides the latest technology to film and television studios whereby they can search an entire television series, film or news footages by episode number and name, characters appearing in scenes, locations, subject matter, special guest, exact transcript or action of the scene as well as exact time codes.

“Our customers can now locate the video sequences they need within seconds, whereas before it took hours of watching video, or to look up hand written logs to locate specific scenes,” explained Robbie Davis, CEO of DG Entertainment. “This will be a great selling tool for DG Entertainment,” he said.

“This new search technology we can now offer film and television studios is unparalleled and will allow us to win major contracts and grow our business.” David said. “We are really excited with our new affiliation with Digitalsmiths!”

According to Ben Weinberger, CEO of Digitalsmiths, the relationship with DG Entertainment will enable his company to extend the reach of its video indexing platform with film and television studios.

“It also means we’ll have a great partner to provide us with feedback on our technology as we evolve,” Weinberger said. “DG Entertainment is a leader in entertainment production so their expertise, coupled with our technology prowess, should quickly enhance our platform, “ he said.

Media Access Pro® allows for an entire television series, film or news footage to be fully indexed and creates a complete searchable archive of text, graphics, audio and video. Presently, several major studios use the proprietary Media Access Pro® technology and CMS output to catalog and search their top-rated shows

In addition, Weinberger said that the new enhanced features of Media Access Pro® allow a company with multiple films, like Harry Potter, to search its digitized and indexed archive of materials individually or all at one time.

For its interactive database created for the “Just Shoot Me” TV series, Digitalsmiths won the promotion’s industry, Promax Gold Award. Other popular TV series indexed with DG Entertainment include “Seinfeld,” “Friends” and the hit, “Two and a Half Men.”
