Beaufort, SC - March 9, 2006

Beaufort-based Digitalsmiths Corporation will take its innovative online video search tool on the road to InnoVenture 2006 later this month. The software engine, which enables users to automatically search video for visual and audible references, has already been incorporated into applications developed for the entertainment industry and is poised to revolutionize the fast-growing online video sharing market.

The 7-year-old emerging company will present in Venture Hall, the portion of the conference designed to “profile high impact companies that are targeting large and growing market opportunities and have or can recruit strong, experienced leadership teams.” The conference takes place March 28-29 in the Palmetto Expo Center in Greenville, SC.

“We see an opportunity to become the industry standard for quickly archiving, cataloging, searching and retrieving video through an intuitive user interface,” stated Ben Weinberger, CEO of Digitalsmiths. “The ability to search video opens opportunities for new markets and additional revenue streams for our customers.”

Some of Digitalsmiths’ capabilities include the ability to search video and audio, integrate the engine into customized portals and deliver instant search results coupled with precisely locating the desired video.

InnoVenture is an annual innovation conference providing a forum for innovators entrepreneurs, and inventors to support the growth of high-impact companies in the Southeastern Innovation Corridor, a region, stretching from Oak Ridge (NC) to Charleston (SC) and Research Triangle Park to Birmingham (AL), includes two national labs, 16 research universities, and a vibrant industrial base. The conference includes Innovation Hall, a tradeshow-like atmosphere for conference registrants; Venture Hall; and Invention Hall.

“Representatives from major research organizations and entrepreneurial companies will collaborate over the course of two days, so that every participant can build relationships to help them grow and create wealth,” says John Warner, chairman of the InnoVenture executive committee.

Participants include companies in the fields of automotive and transportation; advanced manufacturing and supply chain technologies; information technologies; advanced materials and nanotechnologies; fuel cells and next energy; and health sciences. InnoVenture investors include Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina, Clemson University, Michelin, South Carolina Department of Commerce and the University of South Carolina.
